What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
is any product
labeled toxic, poison, corrosive,
flammable, combustible or irritant
that is unwanted.

Why Cant I Throw Household Hazardous Waste in
the Trash?

• Even though these products are readily available
  at many stores, and are used regularly by
  homeowners, they may be harmful to you, your
  family, and/or the environment.

the Trash?

• It is unsafe, and oftentimes illegal,
• to throw or dispose of these wastes
• with the household garbage,
• out in the backyard,
• down the kitchen sink, or
• down the storm drains.
