ESC Curriculum

• Same chapters as syllabus
• Includes general recommendations on training in
  the specialty, as well as requirements for
  institutions, trainers and trainees
• Focused on Knowledge, skills and behaviours and
  attitude
• Links with ESC Guidelines

Methodology

• Based on UK curriculum
• Each member of the committee prepared different
  sections and then presented these to the rest of
  the committee for their comments.
• Reviewed by ESC Board, Working Groups and
  National Societies.
• Final decisions made by committee.

  online)

CoBaTrICE Curriculum map

Methodology

• All syllabus items found in different sources
  (national syllabi and curricula, publications
  etc) were collected and entered into one
  database.
• Domains of competence wre split between national
  respondents, who were asked to select all items
  relevant to the specific domain which had been
  allocated to them.
• CoBaTrICE Editorial Board checked all items for
  consistency.

Methodology

• Each national respondent was asked to nominate 5
  trainees.
• All trainees were asked to identify 5 Internet
  resources which they felt were useful and to link
  it to one category.
• All data collected were entered into one database.
