Midlands Centre Chairmans Letter This years
programme has been put together with the same
approach to a balance of content as last year.
The committee has once again taken into account
the comments from members and considered the
popularity of the events by from the centre
attendances. We have also sought to improve our
links with the other engineering institutions to
increase the breadth of issues we cover,
incorporating the mechanical with the electrical
and the civil aspects of an integrated railway
system. We hope that these links will continue to
bolster our programme and will support your
professional development. The programme for this
year will hopefully provide a range of events to
please all. We look forward to the autumn visit
of the Railway Division Chairman, Alan Lawton,
and also the regional heat of the young members
presentation competition in the Spring. We are
constantly looking for new volunteers to join the
committee at our centre, please contact our
secretary if you are interested. I look forward
to seeing you at the events, Yours
sincerely, Stephen Clarke MEng (Hons) CEng
