24GIE Technical Overview
- The Dynamic Menus are generated based on the
structure of the Web Servers directories and the
files contained within them. This is done via a
two step process. - Step 1
- An ASP page will be run that reads the
Folder/File structure of the server using the
FileSystemObject (FSO) Object. This ASP page
creates HTML strings based on that structure,
which it then stores in the servers cache via
Application Variables. - Step 2
- The menu will be created dynamically on the front
end by another ASP page reading the HTML strings
from the Application Variables in the servers
cache. - The menu is hierarchal based on the Folder
Structure of the server.
25GIE Technical Overview (cont.)
26GIE Technical Overview (cont.)
- Dynamically Displaying PDI files created with
ProcessBook - Our key to dynamically displaying PDI files is an
ASP page that acts as a container for the
ActiveView ActiveX object. - This ASP page facilitates the following functions
for the ActiveX object - Checks the version of ActiveView the user has
installed versus the version installed on the
server. It will automatically update if needed. - Updates the known servers list on the clients
machine - Informs the object of which file it needs to
display
27GIE PI ActiveView System Requirements
