STANDARD ONE
  • STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BEING PREPARED FOR
    CLASS
  • Students will have available and ready, when
    applicable
  • Textbooks or other required materials.
  • Completed homework.

STANDARD TWO
  • STUDENTS WILL FOLLOW PROPER CLASSROOM AND
    BUILDING PROCEDURES
  • Students will
  • Walk on the right side of the hallway when
    traveling in building at all times.
  • Walk quietly in the halls at all times.
  • Keep building clean indoors and outdoors
    (hallways, bathrooms, classroom, and grounds).
  • Demonstrate that give me 5 means quiet and
    listening to staff.
  • Exhibit proper assembly procedures, including
    appropriate seating areas.
  • Exhibit proper classroom procedures.

  • Students are responsible for interactions with
    others by using appropriate manners (please,
    thank you, etc).

W.I.N.G.S. CARDS
  • W.I.N.G.S. Cards are given to students who
    demonstrate responsible behavior during the
    school day. These cards can be used to take away
    reminders at the end of the month or be put in a
    drawing for a special prize.

W.I.N.G.S. REMINDERS
  • Reminders are given to students who do not
    exhibit responsible behavior in any school
    setting. These are given to the homeroom teacher
    who records them on a class chart.
  • Reminders can be removed by using a W.I.N.G.S.
    Card. Students begin each month reminder free.
    No reminders are carried over.
  • Students in the 1st-3rd can attend the W.I.N.G.S.
    event if they receive 6 reminders or less.
  • Students in the 4th-6th can attend September and
    October Events if they receive 6 reminders or
    less. After this the amount of reminders allowed
    will decrease every two months. For November,
    December and January a student may attend with 4
    reminders or less. February and March Events may
    be attended with 3 reminders or less. Finally,
    in April and May students may attend with 2
    reminders or less.

W.I.N.G.S. RETEACH ROOM
Students who do not get to attend the W.I.N.G.S.
Activity are sent to the W.I.N.G.S. Reteach Room.
Once there, the students receive instruction
concerning ways to improve and develop
responsible habits.

UPDATES FOR 2003-2004
  • No reminders or W.I.N.G.S. Cards will be issued
    during the first week of school. This time will
    be spent teaching standards 0f the program. The
    program will officially begin the second week of
    school. The First Grade will use the month of
    September as a trial month and begin the program
    in October.
  • This year there will be 3 major school wide
    events and 4 homeroom events.
  • There will be a decrease every two months of the
    number of reminders a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade
    student is allowed to get to attend a monthly
    activity.
  • There will be an increase in the number of
    reminders allowed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade
    students to attend a monthly activity.
  • The Responsible Student Committee will be meeting
    the day before every event at 330 p.m. in Mrs.
    Currys office. Anyone who would like to attend
    and provide input on any aspect of the program is
    welcome.
