billeting. Meals Meals are provided by
Rocco Dining Facility (M-F), MTSS funding (meal
cards) does not cover meals on weekends.

Leave Passes Ordinary leave is not authorized
during this course. You are required to have a
formal travel pass request (DA 31) for all travel
beyond a 50 mile radius with the exception of
Austin. Passes should be submitted 5 days prior
to the start date. A POV Risk Assessment and POV

includes Mexican border towns. POV Unless your
vehicle has a valid DOD Sticker you are required
to register you vehicle on post. To register
your car on post, visit Building 367 and bring a

Drivers' License, Military or Civilian ID
Card. Hours of operations are Monday thru
Friday, 0730-1545. Motorcycles It is not
recommended that you utilize motorcycles as a
mode of transport. If you choose to bring a
motorcycle you will not be allowed to operate it
on post without a post motorcycle Defensive
Driving Course (DDC) card. It will take at least
two weeks to be enrolled in a DDC class once
enrolled, the training takes an entire day to

- Alpha Company is located in the basement of

- If you wear glasses it is strongly recommended
that you bring two pairs and your most current
prescription. You will receive military glasses
while in the course, but it can take at least
three weeks to receive them. Contact lenses are
not authorized for wear while in the field. - Active Duty soldiers are required to have a
direct deposit pay option. If you have a bank,
make arrangements to have your military pay sent
there or you may decide to choose a bank in the
local area. It is important to have your personal
financial affairs in order prior to arrival at
Fort Sam Houston, you will have very little time
once you arrive and training begins. You MUST
have an SF 1199A or a voided check. - Bring enough money for 30 days of living expenses
just in case there are any problems starting your
Pay. - If Fort Sam Houston is your first time on active
duty, then you will receive a one time uniform
allowance for 600. If you are prior service and
were due to receive an annual enlisted clothing
allowance, then you will still receive that money
in addition to the 600. - Lodging and meal expenses will be paid for
under a system called MTSS (Military Training
Service Support). Basically, your lodging will
be free for the duration of your orders and you
will receive free meals in the DFAC during
training days. On non-training days you will
receive per diem to reimburse you for the meals
you buy. However, the per diem will not be paid
to you until you inprocess at your permanent duty
station. - Physical Fitness You will be required to take
and pass the Record Army Physical Fitness test
and meet the Army Height and Weight Standard in
order to receive graduation credit ensure you
