Title: Dont do this

1
Dont do this
  • A bad presentation

2
Why use PowerPoint?
  • Because we have to
  • Its fun
  • It looks good
  • Everyone else seems to be doing it

3
Doing it badly
  • Dont end up with a page like this one.
  • It is completely packed with dense text. Its a
sure sign of a bad presentation when the
presenter starts reading whats on the slide.
  • A far better idea might be to provide one or two
(not more than 7) bullet points which you use to
talk around. Or perhaps some graphs or pictures
    to illustrate your point.
  • The colour scheme is not good
  • Some of the nicest presentations I have ever seen
contain no text at all, but instead use images to
provide a counterpoint to the presentation
  • Avoid spilling mistakes
  • Dont randomly mix and match fonts
  • Animate? Is it the right thing for your
    presentation?
  • Dont repeat yourself
  • Repeating yourself is a bad idea
  • People cant read small text. If theres too much
of it they will stop listening to you
  • Dont go off the bottom of the screen.
