- The truth is that for the first 100 years as a
state, Indiana was a hotbed of entrepreneurship. - At the beginning of the 20th Century, Indiana was
the equivalent of the Silicon Valley of
manufacturing.

- From 1816 to the early 1900s, Indianas
merchants, bankers, and manufacturers were the
lifeblood of the state. - They delivered

pioneer Indiana. - They imported the goods from outside Indiana.

manufacturing occurred in Indiana.

rest of the US. - Indiana suffers one of the worst losses of
