2Some problems found within the city beach and
Jetty were continuity in structure, organization
of space, and lack of revenue generating
features.
Main focus areas are the Jetty, Emergency
Access/Plaza, and Wedding Point in southeast
portion of park.
Inventory and Analysis
3Beach Point
4With magnificent views and opportunity, this
point provided space for formal gathering and
events. The design combines the context of a
railroad town and the beauty of the surrounding
lake.

5Concessions
6In modifying building continuity, we redesigned
the Concessions to better accommodate use on the
site and conform to our goals.

7Parking and Recreation
8A barren and desolate parking lot currently
occupies a large portion of the park. The
redesign consists of large tree canopies to
provide shade for vehicles and bio-retention
swales to help clean and replenish the water
runoff. We have also included a retention pond
at the end of the parking lot for the occasional
storm.

9Plaza
10Currently acting as emergency and delivery access
for the concessions, the Plaza area has
transformed into something fun and eventful. The
Plaza also acts as a greeting and introductory
point to the City Beach.

11Jetty
12As a very visible point from the City Beach and
many other areas, the Jetty is not currently
living up to its potential.
