  • Layout and framing of picture/image.
  • Artistic sensitivity.

3

  • Photographic equipment.
  • Components of a camera.
  • Key functions and concepts.
  • Lighting.
  • Composition.
  • Kinds of picture.
  • Assignment.

4
Photographic equipment
  • Camera.
  • 135mm, 120mm.
  • Single Lens Reflex (SLR).
  • Twin Lens Reflex (TLR).
  • Lens.
  • Zoom, wide angle, telephoto, fish-eye.

  • Monopod.

6
Components of a camera
  • Camera.

7
Key functions and concepts
  • Aperture.
  • An opening that controls the amount of light goes
into the camera by varying the size.
  • It controls the range of distance that is sharp
    in focus (depth of field).
  • F-stops - F16, F11, F8, F5.6, F4, F2.8.
  • The larger the F-stops number, the smaller the
opening, the longer the depth of field.

8
Key functions and concepts
  • Shutter speed.
  • By varying the speed, it controls the amount of
time the light enters the aperture and reaches
    the film.
  • Speed - 125, 60, 30, 15, 8, 4, 2, 1, 2(125
    means 1/125 second).
  • The longer the exposure time, the brighter the
    photo.

9
Key functions and concepts
  • Film speed.
  • Determines the sensitivity of the film for the
    exposure to light.
  • ISO - 800, 400, 200, 100, 25.
  • The higher the film speed, the shorter the time
needed to make a normal exposure, the larger the
    grains on the photo.

10
