  • A) those educators who would like critical
    reflection and exploration around leadership and
    Catholicity in todays cultural context
  • B) for practicing Catholic leaders in educational
    settings and institutions
  • C) for aspiring Catholic leaders in our schools
  • D) as well as for those .

    Program such as a Masters of Education, a Masters

This course will examine
  • foundational structures and principles of
    leadership
  • flexible and adaptive models for the cultural
    currents of our time
  • a theology of leadership
  • spiritual, aesthetic, and relational dimensions
    of leadership and the challenges in educational
    institutions
  • the interplay of contemporary leadership theory
    and the sacramental nature of being Catholic
  • the person and role of leader within the
    evolving structures of learning communities
  • concepts and practices of leadership for
    Catholic Institutions

  • The course will be taught by Professor Myrtle
    Power
  • Sessions to be delivered at the campus of Saint
    Paul University or alternate site
  • Use of WebCT for communication, course materials,
    notes, chat room, and assignments
  • A three credit graduate course (40 hours)
  • Graduate appropriate course evaluation will be
    determined by professor in consultation with
    students

  • 40 contact hours comprised of
  • Three on site sessions
  • January 13 900 am 300 pm
  • February 10 900 am 330 pm
  • March 31 900 am 330 pm
  • Other sessions will be conducted using WebCT
  • dates subject to revision

  • Applicants must hold a University recognized
    Bachelors degree with a minimum of a B standing
