    RSUs
  • Display is too brief
  • About 2 sec, then back to VII screen

Equipment Reliability Issues
  • Joel VanderWerf

8
RSE Health
  • Updated firmware on most EVDO modems
  • Since then, they have been reliable
  • Still need to do Curtner eventually
  • The 2 T1 lines have been good
  • The 1 GPRS is OK
  • Denso WRMs have been mostly OK
  • Replaced WRM power supply at Page Mill
  • Sniffers work at Calif. and Page Mill

9
Page Mill
  • Packet loss is still a mystery
  • Swapped everything
  • Cables, WRM, pc104 (fan was bad)?
  • Still lose packets on wire to WRM
  • Usually 0, but brief spikes to 50
  • Sometimes seems to depend on queuing of large
packets (even a 200 byte signage)?
  • Sometimes seems to depend on temperature
  • We're still running tests
  • It's usable

10
During Demo
11
Better than early July!
12
Design and Installation
  • Surveying of the potential sites is in progress
  • Dumbarton bridge has been selected for the toll
    application
  • More sniffers will be built
  • Further research is needed for intersection sites
    with 170 controller
  • Need to built a computer that relays the sniffer
data to MCNU Technocom RSU on the signal pole

13
Procurement Process
  • PATH is working to procure the following for
    the future installations

    different connectors, and so on

Installation Schedule

15
Whats next with installations?
  • 10 MCNU have arrived
  • Two will be used only for lab tests for time
    being
  • Work has started on hardware add-ons and software
    development
  • Most of hardware needs have been procured
  • GPS antennas have not yet (but preferred GPS IDd)

16
RSE at Dumbarton Bridge
  • Relatively easy installation
  • Need to install the cabinet and bring power to it
  • Need to install a pole
