2About BioDesk
- BioDesk is fingerprint recognition based software
for registration verification of employees,
visitors, members etc. It can be used by offices
organizations to verify people at entrance desk
to establish their secured identity. In order to
use BioDesk USB fingkey hamster is required.
3BioDesk Installation
- Install BioDesk from the installation CD or
download it by clicking on setup.exe follow
installation instructions. - Download zip file from http//www.bioenabletech.co
m/downloads/biodesk/ directory available on
internet or obtain CD (contact sales_at_bioenabletech
.com) - Requirements for the software are
- Operating System Windows 98, Windows 2000
professional, Windows Xp professional. - RAM 128 MB
- C.P.U 1GHz
- Hard disk space required 50M.B
4How to start BioDesk
Double click on the icon on desktop to start
BioDesk software
5Startup screen
Click on auto scan checkbox to make the scanner
start scanning automatically after 3 seconds.
These timing later on can be changed through
settings
This box displays company name and date and time
of the system
Enter user Id of the person here. Press go button
to start fingerprint verification. Here User id
is optional.
Click on test mode to test for the finger scan.
Log will not get generated in this mode
Fingerprint is displayed here. Click here to
start fingerprint identification.
Click on setup button to configure various
settings used in software
Click on users button to enroll new user in
software

Click on Users button to register new users in
the software.

In this screen provide by default password as
admin and then click on ok button. This password
can be later on changed through setup ? password
button option
8Fingerprint registration module
In this registration module following things
needs to be entered Userid this is unique id
needs to be entered for registration. Name Enter
name of the user Groups Create groups for the
registration. Sex select gender of the
person Address Enter address of the
person Emergency contact Enter emergency contact
for the user
9Fingerprint registration module
Expires Admin can set expiry date for the finger
if he wants to enroll user as temporary
user Message After verification of finger this
message will be displayed on screen. Disabled If
later on after registration admin wants to
disable employee verification in software then he
can click on disable button Admin If the user
wants to assign admin rights then checkbox for
the same needs to be clicked. Authentication
Here users can be enrolled in two ways. With
fingerprint or with pin (password).
10Fingerprint registration module
In this screen mentioned, user needs to be
clicked on blue circle for the respective finger
which he wants to enroll in the software.
11Fingerprint registration module
On the scanner user needs to place finger two
times for the correct finger registration.

After placing same finger for two times it shows
successful capturing screen

After successful registration for particular
finger it shows the respective circle against
that finger in pink icon

After successful registration it shows this
message. Click on finish button to complete
registration

After this click on save button to save record

After this screen click on yes button if admin
wants to capture photo of the user who is getting
enrolled. Else click on no button
If web camera is attached with pc then click on
capture button to capture screen. Else click on
browse button to select photo of the person, then
click on ok button to save photo

After successful registration this message will
get displayed. Click on ok button to complete
registration. Then click on exit button to close
software
18Fingerprint verification
After successful verification border of
fingerprint image photo will get displayed in
green color and it takes first record as IN and
second as OUT

For false verification fingerprint image border
will be displayed in red color
20Setup menu
Click on setup button to make changes in the
settings
21Options menu
Following things need to be entered for changing
settings in the BioDesk software Organization
name Here enter name of the organization for
which scanner is installed. Machine id give
unique machine id for scanner Identification for
1N matching set identification level.
Verification for 11 matching set verification
level for the same
22Options menu
Model select model as Bioscanner Auto IN/OUT By
default this checkbox is selected. Through this
setting first punch will be taken as IN and
second will be taken as OUT. Scan for every
seconds Here user will be required to set timing
for auto scan mode. Suppose office starts at 9 in
morning. So admin wants that between 9 905 AM
scanner will get start blinking automatically, so
here admin can set timing for the same Show snaps
after verification Here user can set time in
settings for showing snap of finger after
verification Optimize sorting This setting will
sort database. Ie last punch made comes in first
row of database Maintain monthly log If this
setting is clicked then in the root directory
path
23Options menu
It creates log file for the particular month
after end of the month Create text log file If
this setting is clicked then it creates log.txt
file at root directory of installation Password
button If admin wants to change his password
then he can click on password button and enter
new password for the same View log When admin
click on this button he can see logs for the
employees. Through this screen he can delete,
modify logs DSN Through this screen admin can
set the (DSN) Data Source Name location path for
the database.
24Options menu
Through this screen user can set various
options Verification and identification By
default this option is ON. If these options are
deselected then finger will not get verified.
