Why is Restructuring necessary?

• Illinois State Board of Education requirement due
  to No Child Left Behind legislation.
• District required to develop a building
  Restructuring Plan if any school in the district
  has not made Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) for
  five (5) years.

Restructuring Options

• A Restructuring Plan must consist of one of the
  following
• Reopen the school as a Charter School.
• Replace all or most of the staff which may
  include the principal.
• Enter into an agreement/contract with an entity
  that has complete control of the school.
• Implement any other major restructuring of the
  schools governance

Justification for proposed changes

• Administrative roles will change to benefit
  students and staff- duties will not be limited to
  discipline and attendance.
• Counselor hours will increase to serve our
  students with regards to scheduling and summer
  school.
• Hall monitors will help increase our attendance
  rate, decrease discipline and safety issues.
