Background What is Cover the Uninsured Week?

• National event is in its 5th year
• Brings together individuals and organizations in
  all 50 states in an annual campaign to demand
  that our nation's leaders find a solution for the
  more than 46 million Americans living without
  health insurance.

• This year April 23-29, 2007
• Past events in Madison
• Less momentum than today
• Not cohesive
• Included a candle vigil at the State Capitol
• To quote Dr. Farley, We want to END Cover the
  Uninsured Week!
