Title: In God We Trust I Think

1
In God We TrustI Think!!!!!
  • John 141-2
  • "Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Trust in God trust also in me.

2
Are we in reality?
  • Prov 35-6 Trust in the LORD with all your
heart and lean not on your own understanding
in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make
    your paths straight.

3
Trust has been robbed from our country and
churches.
  • The evil one has convinced us that we cannot
trust government, pastors and family and yes even
    God.
  • The evil one has robbed us of the word of God.
Matt 1318-19 When anyone hears the message
about the kingdom (truth) and does not understand
it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was
    sown in his heart.
  • We have lost hope and trust in what God says.

4
Trusting Relationships
  • Building true trusting relationships are
    extremely hard but worth it.
  • They are not built on religious correctness.
  • But they are built on truthfulness and honesty.
  • Healthy trusting relationships are almost always
lacking within Churches that fail, and often
    present within those that succeed.

5
Trusting Relationships
  • True biblical relationships produce a power that
    cannot be denied.
  • Matt 1819-20"Again, I tell you that if two of
you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it
will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For
where two or three come together in my name,
    there am I with them."
  • When Gods people come together and set aside
their individual needs they can accomplish what
    might have looked impossible.

6
Trusting Relationships
  • True Biblical relationships give people a sense
of belonging, which ultimately make them better
citizens of the Kingdom of God.
  • Building better relationships have an impact that
goes far beyond the walls of your church.

7
Trusting, Relational Churches
  • Members of great churches trust one another on a
fundamental, emotional level, and they are
comfortable being vulnerable with each other
about their weaknesses, mistakes, and fears.
They get to where they can be open with one
    another.

8
Trusting Relationships
  • No spiritual quality or characteristic is more
    important than true Biblical trust.
  • Relationship revolves around trust more than
    anything else.
  • There is probably no quality or characteristic
that is as rare as trust.

9
In what do we trust?
  • We are to simply trust in what God says.
  • Heb 114 By faith Abel offered unto God a more
    excellent sacrifice
  • Heb 117 By faith Noah, being warned of God of
things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared
an ark to the saving of his house
  • Heb 118 By faith Abraham, when he was called to
go out into a place which he should after receive
for an inheritance, obeyed and he went out, not
    knowing whither he went.

10
What is Trust?
  • Definition of trust to rely on the truthfulness
    or accuracy of BELIEVE lttrust
  • Trust is the product of truthfulness
  • Jesus is truthful with us so therefore we can
    trust him.

11
Where did Trust go?
  • True Biblical Trust should be listed on the
endangered list because it is so rare. It leaves
    any relationship as truthfulness exits.
  • Trust is the foundation of any relationship.
  • How can you measure the level of relationship
you have with someone or even God?
  • I cannot measure a level of relationship but I
can measure a level of trust.
  • Truth Trust Relationship

12
Being Vulnerable.
  • Trust is all about being vulnerable to the truth.
  • Relationships that trust one another learn to be
    comfortable being truthful and honest.
  • We are to be honest about our weaknesses, fears
and failures. People have difficulty in admitting
their weaknesses, their faults and their
    mistakes.

13
Being Vulnerable.
  • When it comes to relationships, trust is all
about vulnerability. Relationships who trust one
another learn to be comfortable being open, even
exposed, to one another around their failures,
    weaknesses, even fears.

14
Being Vulnerable
  • Our pride is a mask that covers the truth in our
lives. We even fool ourselves. As we look into
the mirror our pride tells us lies. We think we
are just fine when we really are not.
  • As relationships fail our invulnerability holds
    strong.

15
Biblical Trust Religious Trust
  • Biblical trust is the only true trust. It comes
from being truthful and honest with your-self and
    God.
  • Example Your child
  • Religious trust (political) is when I say what I
think you want to hear. So therefore you can now
trust me. My goal is to appear perfect before
    you.
  • Biblical trust is produced from people who arent
afraid to admit the truth about themselves.
  • Christians have great difficulty in admitting
their faults and weaknesses when God speaks.

16
Difficulty of Biblical Trust
  • Humans have a great desire for self
preservation. So therefore being vulnerable to
the truth fells like we are dying.
  • This is what God is after. Rom 76 But now, by
dying to what once bound us, we have been
released from the law so that we serve in the new
way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the
    written code.
  • For relationships to go forward it must begin
with you. You must be willing to take a risk on
    being vulnerable.

17
Biblical Trust will trump judgement.
  • Rom 516 The judgment followed one sin and
brought condemnation,. For if, by the trespass
of the one man, death reigned through that one
man, how much more will those who receive God's
abundant provision of grace and of the gift of
righteousness reign in life through the one man,
    Jesus Christ.

18
John the Baptist and Conflict.
  • Matt 1112 And from the days of John the Baptist
until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth
violence, and the violent take it by force.
  • Johns message Matt 31-2 In those days came
John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of
Judaea, And saying, Repent ye for the kingdom
    of heaven is at hand.

19
Jesus and Conflict
  • Mark 223-24 One Sabbath Jesus was going through
the grain fields, and as his disciples walked
along, they began to pick some heads of grain.
The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they
doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"
  • Mark 227 Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was
made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

20
Biblical conflict is the beginning of truth.
  • When I hear the truth it brings conflict to my
    heart.
  • I have fear of conflict so fear keeps me from
going forward when God is bringing conflict to my
    heart.
  • This is good fear. Prov 910 "The fear of the
LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of
    the Holy One is understanding.
  • Remember Biblical Truth Biblical Trust
    Biblical Relationships

21
Hearing the Truth
  • When I hear the truth from God it causes me to
    trust him.
  • When God hears the truth from me it causes him to
    trust me.
  • The prayer of faith is talking to God with
    truthfulness and honesty.
