KAVA
Keep A Village Alive !
2
KAVA, Inc.
- Founded by Alani Ogunlade -
To Serve As A Catalyst And Change-Agent For
The Preservation Of Rural African Villages
3
It is an understatement to say that
all villages in rich and poor
African countries have been neglected in the
areas of quality education,
adequate
medical services,
economic development,
and
social
programs.
4
This total neglect
has escalated the
increase in poverty,

diseases (cholera, malaria,
tuberculosis, etc.) and

lack of, or poor basic amenities such as
safe drinking water,
toilets,

electricity,
and medical
facilities.
5
KAVA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit
organization that is
implementing programs to address these kinds
of issues.
6
KAVAs mission is
? to improve the quality of life in rural African
villages ? to keep the honor, character, and
history of the people intact as part of their
legacy ? to protect vulnerable groups during
the adjustment process by reducing negative
impacts as changes necessary to continued
existence are incorporated/integrated

During a return visit to the tiny farming village
of Olomu Oshoba, Ifo, local government (Ogun
State) in Nigeria where he was born and raised,
Alani Ogunlade observed conditions that appalled
him and he decided that something must be done
about them immediately.

The School Project
The School Project began with the purchase of
desks and chairs for existing classrooms so that
students no longer had to sit on the concrete
floor.
Phase 2 involved tearing down the old school and
building a new, modernized six room building for
kindergarten through eighth grade, equipped with
computers, updated books, restroom facilities,
and a library to not only improve educational
opportunities for the school children but
revitalize the community
