15
Adjudication for BMSc program
  • Two-stage process
  • Eligibility for BMSc program
  • Averages in Bio/Chem/Math are ranked for
    placement in requested Honors Specialization
    modules

16
What if???
  • Admission requirement is not met
  • e.g. mark of only 58 in Calc 1000A
  • not eligible for Year 2 of BMSc program
  • The fix
  • Fix mark in the summer well reconsider for
BMSc later in the summer if program isnt full,
    or
  • Fix mark in Year 2 request BMSc during ITR next
year and be adjudicated for Year 3 BMSc

  • The fix
  • dont fail any courses in Year 2 and apply again
    for Year 3 BMSc

18
What if???
  • Admission criteria are not met
  • fewer than 5.0 courses
  • average less than 78 in Bio/Chem/Math
  • grey zone
  • if fewer than 370 students have been admitted,
students with less than 5.0 courses and an
average as low as 75 in Bio/Chem/Math will be
    admitted

19
What if???
  • Admission requirements are met but average is
    less than 75 in Biology/Chem/Math
  • e.g. 72 average in Bio/Chem/Math
  • not eligible for Year 2 of the BMSc program
  • The fix
  • Bio/Chem/Math average does NOT need to be
    improved
  • register in BSc degree (maybe with a Major in a
    Basic Medical Science discipline)
  • work hard in Year 2 to meet admission criteria
for entry into Year 3 of the BMSc program
