33
Outreach/Site Visits
  • Army War College (AWC), Carlisle, PA
  • Marine Corp University (MCU), Quantico, VA
  • Marine Corp Intelligence Activity (MCIA),
    Quantico, VA
  • Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)
    Library, Arlington, VA

  • Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR -
    SSC Pacific), San Diego, CA
  • Joint Council on Aging Aircraft (JCAA),
    Arlington, VA

34
Other Efforts
  • TR Contributor Collaboration Digitization Effort
  • Provide full-text availability to those citations
in the TR database which currently does not have
full-text available or the current full-text is
    of low quality.
  • Using older documents in a hard-copy or digital
    format documents.
  • Provide a better quality document than could be
retrieved from the microfiche or which is
    currently available.

35
Other Efforts
  • Loan Processing
  • Borrow hard-copy documents not currently in the
    TR collection for digitization.
  • Army War College, Army Heritage and Education
    Center, Carlisle, PA
  • Student thesis for digitizing or as new documents
    to the collection
  • Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, VA
  • Collection of Vietnam War and Japan documents
  • Placing special identifier in citation easily
    retrieves the collection

36
Other Efforts
  • Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL)
    Support
  • Review CDRL instructions to ensure that correct
submitting information is included and offer any
    recommended revisions.
  • Developed CDRL template, which is available on
the Tutorial and Other Guidance for Submitting
    Documents Web site.

37
Other Efforts
  • Trend Analysis
  • Perform analysis of organizations who have
submitted to DTIC in the past to determine those
who have decreased their submission rate.
  • Contact these organizations to advise and
determine the possible cause of the decrease,
with hopes of either increasing input into DTIC
or understanding logical reasons as to why their
numbers may have declined (e.g., a decrease in
    budget).

38
Other Efforts
  • Collection Analysis
  • Provide an analysis of an organizations current
    collection in the TR database.
  • This analysis includes statistics of the number
of citations, along with the number of those
citations which have the full-text available,
    broken out by
  • Total number documents for that organization
  • Number of documents which are Unclassified vs.
    Classified
  • Number of documents which are Unlimited vs.
    Limited
  • Yearly submission rate

39
Other Efforts
  • Collection Analysis

Yearly Submission Rate (based on Report Date)

Other Efforts
  • Other Support to
  • National Security Agency (NSA), Tactical SIGINT
