How Blizzards Form
  • You need cold air to make snow. The clouds where
    snowflakes structure and ground level. Both must
    be chilly for snow to fall to the ground.
  • If the air near the ground is to warm, the snow
    will melt on its approach downward. Therefore it
    will turn to rain or freezing rain.

How long can it last?
  • A blizzard can last for many hours. The greatest
    amount of hours that a blizzard lasted was four
    days.
  • A blizzard can travel for many, many miles.
  • A Blizzard might take a week till it stops, the
    snow and ice might take weeks to melt. When the
    ice from lakes and rivers crack it may cause a
    flood.

What makes blizzards dangerous?
  • Blizzards have different dangers. Driving by car
    can be very hard or even impossible without
    conditions in drifting snow. What makes a
    blizzard dangerous is that there is strong winds,
    cold temperature and heavy snow. You can get
    frost bite,

  • Don't leave your home
  • If you are in a car do not try to go at your
    house as fast as you can because your car might
    slip
  • Always make sure you have a First Aid kit in
    your car and your house.
  • Make sure you have warm clothing in your house
    and your car in case get trapped in a place
  • Make sure your cell phones are working good and
    have extra batteries.
  • Make sure you have something to keep you warm.

Where blizzards occur
  • Most blizzards come from the north pole, South
    pole, Central united, British Columbia, Canada,
    and the Rocky Mountains.
  • The reason that the blizzards come from these
    regions is because these regions are the farthest
    from the Equator so they are cold regions.

  • Blizzards are hazardous when fallen snow blocks
    roads, and highways and airports become
    snowbound.

    blizzard.

  • The most you would exepect to see during a storm
    is a lot of hail, snow and wind.The reason this
    is because the rain drops in the snow freeze.
