Title: Good Friday Communion
1Good FridayCommunion
- a service of stillness, reflection and touch
2He was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows
and acquainted with grief. Surely He has born
our sins and carried our sorrows. He was wounded
for our transgressions and bruised for our
iniquity, like a lamb led to slaughter.
3Your attitude should be the same as that of
Christ Jesus Who, being in very nature God, did
not consider equality with God something to be
grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very
nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
4 And being found in appearance as a man, he
humbled himself and became obedient to death--
even death on a cross! Phil 2
5Servant King
6And Jesus, rose from supper, laid aside His
garments, and girded himself with a towel. Then
He poured water into a basin and began to wash
the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the
towel which He was girded. John 13
7Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain
conceit, but in humility consider others better
than yourself. Phil. 2
8Pass the servants bowl and swatch of towel.

9Jesus the servant . . .
How is your life reflecting the servants heart
of Jesus? How is it not?
10The Betrayed One
11Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas
Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said,
What will you give me if I deliver Him to you?
And they paid Him thirty pieces of silver. And
from that moment he sought an opportunity to
betray Him. Matthew 26
12Pass the silver pieces.

13Jesus the betrayed . . .
How have you betrayed the Lordship of Christ in
your life the past year? Spend time in
confession
14Pierced for Our Transgressions
15And when they came to the place called The Skull,
there they crucified Him, and criminals, one on
the right and one on the left.
16And at the ninth hour, when darkness had come,
Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama
sabachthani? which means, My God, My God, why
have you forsaken me?
17And He said, It is finished, and he bowed His
head and gave up His spirit.
18Then he said to them, "If anyone would come after
me, he must deny himself and take up his cross
daily and follow me. Luke 23 I have been
crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live
but Christ who lives in me. Gal. 2
19Pass the spike.
p
20Jesus the Crucified . . .
Spend time reflecting on the Lords death on your
behalf. Thank Him . . .
21Jesus the Crucified . . .
How are you dead to your own desires and alive to
the Fathers? How are you not?
22Our Access to the Father
23And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in
two, from top to bottom, and the earth shook and
the rocks were split. Matt 27
24Let us then approach the throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find
grace to help us in our time of need. Heb. 4
25Pass the torn veil.
p
26Jesus the High Priest . . .
How well are you using your privilege of coming
before God in prayer and personal worship of Him?
27He was crushed for our transgressions . . .
p
As you take the Lords Supper, envision the
crushing of the body of Christ as you bite down
on the grape and the bread.
28The Fragrant Offering
29They took the body of Jesus, and bound it in
linen cloths with the spices, and placed Him in
the tomb. John 19
30God . . .through us spreads everywhere the
fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to
God the aroma of Christ among those who are being
saved and those who are perishing. 2 Cor. 2
31Pass the spices in cloth.
p
32Jesus the Fragrant Offering . . .
How is your life the aroma of the Crucified
Christ to a lost and dying world? What changes
do you need to make?
