(proprietary software has hidden codes) - Vendor
Lock-in - FOSS must in the toolkit of the
professional IT engineer - Offering academic
institution to be on top of the recent trend of
integrating FOSS into the academics - Global
democratic need for FOSS (CSR) - OurBank as thé
platform for students to obtain practical
experience ? our 'project course' as learning
and working platform ? professional guidence and
monitoring by Mahiti and faculty ? After
completion the students receive certificate and
other credits

1) Engage FOSS into the academical field - First
target Key Faculty and Academical staff - Inspire
and motivate them in FOSS (see necessity of FOSS
in the academics) 2) Provide a learning and
working environment in the academical field -
First the faculty through Faculty Development
Programs and presentations - Then target the
students by providing the learning environment
and our 'project course' GOAL (Macro) Mahiti is
engaging FOSS into the academical field in the
region (Micro)Mahiti will be able to play to
push the development of OurBank inside the
academical field and curriculum

meeting with key faculty 2) Sell FOSS in meetings
to key faculty members of College 3) Push Faculty
Development Program to College 4) On FDP Inspire
and activate faculty members by FOSS and our
'Project Courses' as the perfect learning
platforms 6) Organize FOSS seminars for students
with 'Project Course' focus 7) Rope students in
our projects to gain practical/professional
experience in the field of their studies

Process on level of contributor (student) 1)
Level expectations with contributor (motivation
to learn, time frame, area of interest to
contribute) depends of the mode of
cooperation 2) Set customized learning plan with
training if required 3) Set customized working
plan 4) Learning and working of contributors will
be guided mainly by the teachers, and on the
macro level by Mahiti 5) After successful
contribution the contributor receives a
certificate of completion (by Mahiti and

Current Status Community
Current status community recruits - 3 students
from IIITM have contributed successfully to
OurBank. They created a working module for
storing different loan schemes and various loans
all in one month learning and one month working -
Phd student of IISc Vivek will create the
installer of Ourbank (learning and working
stage) - Principal Language Center working stage
(translation to Hindi) - 5nd semester student CS
Ajith (learning stage) - 5th semester student IS
at MIT Mohammed (learning stage) - 5th semester
student CS at MIT Rakesh (learning stage) - 3
newies contacted us from MIT, IS, to start our
'project course'
