    benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone,
    methamphetamine, ecstasy, opiates, PCP and
    propoxyphene
  • Adulterated Specimens or positive results job
    offer rescinded

  • Simulate job tasks

    completed and reviewed by RN
  • Fit testing occurs at Orientation

  • Began screening 10 years ago
  • Candidate reviews questionnaire with RN and
    Physician
  • May be an accommodation issue

  • Physician
  • Reviews and discusses health history with
    candidate and conducts a physical exam
  • Documents medical conditions, treatment or
    restrictions that might impact candidates
    ability to safely perform essential job duties
  • 3. Makes recommendations regarding employment
    based on findings and knowledge of job
    requirements

  • In addition to Job Description, detailed physical
    demands form developed for each job
    classification
  • Specifies required physical abilities (vision,
    manual dexterity, mobility, dynamic strength,
    endurance/stamina, etc.)
  • Specifies essential or marginal function and
    frequency

    provider and Human Resources imperative
  • All restrictions reviewed to determine if
    accommodation is required and/or possible
