connect high school students to educational
opportunities and employment in healthcare in our
community (Iowa) - Provide AEA 267 high school students with
educational and experiential opportunities that
will accelerate their entrance into the
healthcare programs offered by HCC or Allen
College

11Post Junior Summer Level I Experience
- 8 Weeks, 4 days/week, 4 to 7 hours/day
- general orientation content for all facilities
- clinical site experience at three healthcare

to educational account)
12Senior Year Experience
- Student must complete a minimum 180 hour paid
internship at multiple site at 6.00/hour - Continued high school and college-level

- EHC2 participants continue nursing education at
either of our consortium member institutions,
Allen College or Hawkeye Community College

- While participating in EHC2 program activities
440 (partially offset by 300 cash payments) - Transportation

- Uniforms/Shoes
- While enrolled in HCC or Allen College for
completion of nursing degree (LPN, AND, BSN)
current costs (partially offset by 600
educational account)
17What does it mean to be a participating student?
- Each student will commit to participate in summer
experiences after junior and senior years - Each student will provide meals, transportation,
uniform - Each student will maintain CEU credits for
certification as a nurse aide throughout the
program
18What does it mean to be a participating school?
- Each school will provide sufficient curriculum to
support the articulated portion of the program - Articulated classes at the school
- Means to attend articulated classes at a hub site
- Each student requires the following financial
support from the school - Sponsorship for coursework _at_ 450
- Commitment to provide work experience
coordination for two nine week periods during
their senior year

- Each participating business will sponsor one or
more students through the entire program - Sponsorship for two summer career experiences
- Commitment to provide work experience and career
exploration for two nine-week periods during the
senior year - Commitment to provide clinical training site for
nurse aide program - Commitment to provide staff to serve as
coordinators and/or preceptor to students on-site
