• Help with mobility
• Assist with change of non-sterile dressings (RN
  or RPN supervision)
• Assist in administering medications (RN or RPN
  supervision)
• Observe environments report/document unsafe
  conditions

COMPASSIONATE CARE
PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER

• Feed or assist in feeding
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of proper
  hygiene
• Assist in regular exercise, i.e. walking or in
  pool
• Meal preparation household management

PREPARING FOR THE REAL WORLD
PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER

• 15 weeks in a work experience setting (Clinical
  and Community settings in a Long Term Care
  Centre)
• Supervised by a Certified PSW at the Centre (or
  RN or RPN)
• Regular Anderson College site visits from a RN or
  RPN
• Ongoing Life line with your PSW instructor
• PSW NACC Skills Passbook verifies competencies
  and skills
