• Waiting lists in the SW rising faster than any
  other region (2001 90,000, today 150,000)
• Over 4,500 applicants on the BNES waiting list.
• Around 550 lettings made each year (mainly
  re-lets)
• Over 1000 affordable rented homes sold in BNES
  under RTB since 1998
• Developing new homes is massively expensive

• In 2005/06 nearly 19,000 new homes built in the
  SW
• Regional Spatial Strategy proposes
• at least 28,000 new homes per year in the SW.
• 35 (10,000) of these to be affordable
• 50 Increase in central government investment in
