• Found between forest or woodland region
• Also found between tropical rain forest and

  equator

• Its cooler around the dry season (around 70 F)
• Monsoon rains begin in May average rainfall

• Hot and humid rainy season

• Savannas are the largest biome in southern Africa
• There are frequent fires in savannas
• Cover half the surface of Africa
• About one quarter of the world is covered in
  savannas

• Not much diversity in savannas in Australia
• Found at either high altitudes or high latitudes
• Savannas in South America have fewer species
• There isnt enough rainfall to support a forest
