• Live in Desert
• They like hot, dry climates

Food

• Mostly vegetarian
• Greens are very important in their diets
• Beans and seeds help to give them the needed
  nutrients
• Some dispute about ingestion of insects but they
  are known to eat crickets and mealworms

Water

• Water sources are minimal in the desert
• They do not drink water but obtain it from the
  green they eat
• In captivity, the owner may occasionally put
  drops of water on the greens to give it added
  water supply

Size

• Males older males get 16 but breeding size is
  about 10
• Females adult female may be 12 but 9 is the
  breeding size

Color Variations

• In their natural habitats they range from green,
  red, yellow, pink, and orange
• Males have black heads and tails with golden
  yellow on the back and front feet
• Females are the tan or brown color with black
  flecks
