Tools

• Manuals will be prepared in structured Framemaker
  (ver.8).
• Customized Framemaker application (EDD)
  conforming to Gulfstreams DTD.
• Illustrations will be extracted from the
  engineering databases, edited in CAD software,
  integrated in Coreldraw and exported to WMF for
  final graphic presentation in Framemaker.
• Content Management System.

Deliverables

• Electronic versions of both the AFM and OPM (and
  subsequent revisions) will be supplied to
  Gulfstream Flight Crew Publications department.
• The electronic versions for the finished products
  will be supplied in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and
  also in authoring-compatible software.
• The electronic versions of both documents will be
  formatted as to enable them to be uploaded to the
  on-board computer system for use by the crew
  during operation of the aircraft. Color graphics
  will be used for all version of the manuals.

Multiple Editing Locations

• 50 of the systems section is to be edited by
  GAC
• Definition of the work to be performed at
  Gulfstream is required.
• Content management will be performed at MHT.
• Text and artwork prepared by Gulfstream tools
  and formats will be compatible with MHTs.
• Responsibility and schedules to update the
  content and maintain configuration in the
  development phase and thereafter to be defined.

Proposed joint editing workflow

• MHT prepares and delivers the system descriptions
  section (Framemaker text and graphics).
• GAC edits and updates the relevant content and
  forward to MHT for integration into the manual.
• MHT creates all external links, TOC, LOP, LOE
  etc.
• MHT validates all content for both print and
  electronic deliveries.
• MHT distributes online (internal and external
  networks) controlled drafts to IAI engineering,
  flight operations, program office, CAAI and GAC.
• MHT receives inputs from all parties and
  incorporates in the next draft. Conflicting
  inputs will be resolved by project pilot.
