3New Top-Level Architecture
recursive!
NOTE Nothing in this architecture implies what
runs on what machine. E.g., data collected from
the cockpit controlled by a human might well stay
on the same machine responsible for running the
game.

Need both pair of P/A arrows perpetually
horizontal makes assisting human IA possible
vertical makes simulating reasoning of human IA
possible

7Scenario Structure Needed

First please note
11Selmers Hypotheses
- Non-analysts with three or more courses in formal
logic will outperform trained analysts with years
of experience when both groups performance is
measured in connection with well-defined
scenarios. - (It would be most interesting to have three
groups to compare non-analysts trained in
formal logic, experienced analysts, and
experienced analysts explicitly training in the
Wigmorean style.) - The standard training of analysts is more
efficacious when extensive training in formal
logic (three or more courses) is added.
12(Mini) Scenario 1
(1) The following three assertions are either all
true or all false If Billy is an Al Qaeda
sleeper, Doreen is. If Doreen is an Al Qaeda
sleeper, Frank is as well. If Frank is an Al
Qaeda sleeper, so is Emma. (2) The following
assertion is definitely true Billy is an Al
Qaeda sleeper.
Can it be inferred from (1) and (2) that Emma is
an Al Qaeda sleeper?
13(Mini) Scenario 2
If one of the following assertions is true then
so is the other (1) There is an Al Qaeda
sleeper in United Airlines baggage crew if and
only if there is an employee who is a member of
Ayran Brotherhood in UAs baggage crew. (2)
There is an Al Qaeda sleeper in UAs baggage
crew. Which is more likely to be in the UA crew,
if either the sleeper or the employee who is a
member of AB?
14(Mini) Scenario Schema
Give information corresponding to givens in an
established scenario, such as Wigmore. Then give
a stem, and 5 options, with one key, and 4
distractors. Testing IAs can then be done
by piggybacking on established tests.
