  • Read the announcement carefully. Notify Vice
    President of Research if there are ANY
    limitations to the of proposals submitted.
  • Forward it to your PA at least 5 days before the
    filing deadline.
  • Ask questions.
  • Program Administrator
  • Resolve any limitation issues.
  • Answer questions.

Proposal Submission
  • Take Time to Prepare
  • The Sponsor will review more favorably a
    well-thought out, well organized
    professional-looking proposal.

Proposal Preparation
  • Send Announcement link to your Dept Coordinator
    Program Administrator when you first think of
    submitting.
  • AT LEAST 5 working days before the due date-send
    your preliminary budget in excel format to your
    PA for review.
  • After preliminary budget approval-begin routing
    your internal forms for Dept approval.
  • We need these approvals to submit!

Cost Sharing may be Required
  • If cost sharing is required, the details will be
    in the announcement.
  • Required cost sharing must be included in a
    proposal budget.

  • Internal cost sharing is NOT included in the
    proposal because

  • If it is submitted, it becomes a commitment we
    are obligated to meet.

Who Does What?
  • Faculty Dept Coordinator
  • Locate and assemble the required forms.
  • Prepare your budget
  • Obtain your support letters, documents as
    required.
  • Make required copies if paper.
  • If electronic-be sure ALL on-line forms are in
    order.
  • Give entire proposal and signed internal forms to
    your PA.
  • Research Administrator
  • Review proposal budget for compliance
  • Certify effort and salaries
  • Review proposal requirements
  • Review final submission
  • Obtain authorized signatures
