The Diocese of Arizona
3- For which of you, intending to build a tower,
does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to
see whether he has enough to complete it?
Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is
not able to finish, all who see it will begin to
ridicule him. - Luke 14.28

18Good news in hard times
- Historically church-member giving doesn't
necessarily decline in a recession. This probably
has to do with the fact that churches are
generally seen as the layer immediately beyond
the family in terms of responsibility,
accountability, relationships. -

instruct the people, from time to time, about the
duty of Christian parents to make prudent
provision for the well-being of their families,
and of all persons to make wills, while they are
in health, arranging for the disposal of their
temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able,
to leave bequests for religious and charitable
uses. - Book of Common Prayer, page 445

local church. - What do we want to accomplish?
- How much do we need?
- Dream big!
- Share the dream with the whole
- community!
All Things Come of Thee O Lord
30Lets do it together!
- We are really doing the
- prospective donor an
- enormous favor by asking
- for support because their
- gift will provide a meaning
- and a consequence to their lives that will
otherwise not exist. -
- Lincoln Centers president Reynold Levy
31Our financial future looks great!
- When we plan strategically
- When we identify resources
- When we cultivate relationships
- When we focus on mission
- When we trust in God!
