Lesson Overview
  • The objective of this lesson is to teach 8th
    grade students prepositions.
  • Upon successful completion of this lesson,
    students will be able to use and identify
    prepositions correctly and present them using
    PowerPoint.
  • The lesson covers standards 6 Conventions and
    Az. Standard 3 Technology

Traditional Task
  • Mouse in the House activity on prepositions.
    Various
  • pictures are on the white board attached with
    magnets a
  • mouse, house, school, bench, and tree. Have
    students
  • write sentences describing where the mouse is
    located in
  • regard to the other pictures.

Integrated Technology
  • The students will use their notes and knowledge
    of prepositions to create their own PowerPoint
    presentations.
  • They will get two one-hour sessions in the
    computer lab to work on them, as well as
    additional time after-school as needed.
  • The following Friday and Monday the students
  • will present their PowerPoints to the class.
  • They will be graded on the content and design
  • of their PowerPoint projects, as well as how
  • they did presenting the information. (Grades
  • are based on an evaluation rubric)
