Whom and How to apply for the Information under
the RTI
Every Government Department will have a PIO
Public Information Officer (PIO)

• Visit respective website of Public authority

• or visit http//rti.gov.in

Apply on a plain paper in English or Hindi or
Local language
One can also use the standard format provided 2

• Fee, 10 Rupees in cash or DD

• not required to give any reason

• only contact details are necessary

• only individuals can apply, NGO or Institution
  are
• not allowed

How to use the Information obtained under RTI
Ask them to take action and inform you within 15
days
Submit your forms to CBI, Central Vigilence
commission Or local police

• wrtie to concerned department and mark copies
• to your local MLA, Cheif minister and Prime
  minister
• ask them to respond in 15 days

After 15 days demand for the reports
CBI is bound to take action according to the RTI
rules
Plan and arrrange a Public hearing, Call media
and gather all the people who have shown interest
