3 Main Aims

• To develop and evaluate web-based
  resource-enriched scenarios that encourage
  independent learning and student centred enquiry
  within facilitated small groups using PBL as a
  learning and teaching methodology.

  all potential students regardless of learning
  styles or disability

• Develop and evaluate 5 scenarios supporting PBL
  to meet requirements of the making a difference
  curriculum.
• 1 scenario per branch with 2 scenarios for adult
  branch

• New born baby with Downs syndrome and a heart

• A 42 year old women having day surgery for a
  laparoscopic choleycystectomy.

• Animation to show how the gall bladder works, and
  the pain mechanism.

• A 76 year old man who is malnourished, confused
  and described as a social problem.

Evaluation Strategies

• Whole cohort (250 students) to be informed of
  strategy
• Smaller PBL group within cohort will be targeted
  for pre and post scenario evaluation

  and focus group
