• Four Year Requirement
• One Year Course
• Register for English 7-8 at same level
  General/Academic/Enriched
• COMP 110 111 if pre-requisite is met
• Concerns with level, talk to teacher or counselor
• English failures must be re-taken and passed

Physical Education

• One year course
• Regular Jr/Sr P.E.
• Weight Training
• Dual credit through ICC
• P.E. 149 (first semester)
• P.E. 162 (second semester)
• Can be taken consecutively or one junior year and
  one senior year
• One hour college credit per course
• Must pass 7.5 semesters to graduate

• Six Semesters Required
• 4 years recommended for college bound students

• Students must pass one year of a life science and
  one year of a physical science to graduate.

  Descriptions)
• Its to your advantage to take 6 courses plus
  P.E.
• Talk to coaches about NCAA requirements for
  collegiate athletics. More information is
  available through your counselor and/or the
  athletic directors. You may also visit
  www.ncaaclearinghouse.net for additional
  information.

• Men are required to register with the Selective
  Service System within 30 days of the their 18th
  birthday. Online registration is available at

• PSAE scores will appear on your transcript the
  ACT portion will need authorization to be
  included
• As a state requirement students must take both
  Day One Day Two tests to be eligible for
  graduation.

• The ACT

• Colleges use results from the ACT test and/or
  other assessment measures in making admission
  decisions. Other considerations often include
  high school courses taken grades earned, class
  rank, extra-curricular accomplishments.
• The 2008-2009 ACT National Test Dates remaining
• February 7 registration deadline - January 6
  (EPCHS)
• April 4 registration deadline February 27
• June 13 registration deadline - May 8
• Additional dates will be available in Fall, 2009
• Online registration is available

National Honor Society

• Must have attended EPCHS for at least 3
  semesters prior to application at the beginning
  of second semester senior year
• Must have at least 714 cumulative honor points at
  the end of 7 semesters
• Must submit application supporting
  documentation
• Students should be keeping track of all OUT of
  school volunteer activities forms are in Student
  Services
• All school activities are on the application and
  have no set amount of required hours each
  activity is judged on its own merit

National Honor Society

• The following are cause for immediate rejection
  of application
• Expulsion
• Suspension senior year or any suspension for more
  than 3 days
• ISC more than 3 times excluding tardies as the
  reason
• More than 2 academic integrity forms during
  grades 9-11 none allowed senior year
• Violation of activity code resulting in removal
  during junior year or suspension or removal
  during senior year

• To calculate honor points
• Use chart in student agenda on page 83
• Match up semester grade earned with level of
  course
• Total your points by adding up honor points
  earned for each class, each semester
• To stay on track for earning 714 honor points
  students should earn 102 honor points each
  semester
• PE, Driver Education, Behind the Wheel, classes
  taken for no honor points, do not earn honor
  points

What are College Admission Requirements?

• English 4 years
• Math 4 years recommended
• Science 3 years recommended
• Social Studies 3 years recommended
• Note Two years of electives and/or two years of
  foreign language are requirements that vary from
  college to college

• Organize and read any college literature youve
  received
• Compile a resume including extra-curricular
  activities, community service, work experience,
  awards and honors, etc.

• Continue a rigorous college-prep curriculum
• Re-take ACT / SAT
• Apply to colleges early be aware of priority
  filing deadlines and procedures for getting
  official transcripts sent to the schools of your
  choice

• Take advantage of scholarship opportunities
  available to you
• Fill out and submit required financial assistance
  materials (FAFSA) after January 1st
• Notify your college of choice by May 1st send
  necessary deposits
