Rainforest Facts byCarmen McDermott

• Rainforests are located in South America, India,
  Asia, Africa, and Brazil.
• The rainforest once covered 14 the earth, now it
  covers 6.
• The Amazon Rainforest is called the lungs of the
  our planet.
• In the rainforest there are 750 types of trees
  and 1500 species of higher plants.
• The average rainfall is 100 a year.

Giant Anteatersby Kyle Bies

• Anteaters live in deciduous forest, grasslands,
  and rainforests in Central and South America.
• Anteaters have a 3- 4 feet long torso, a bushy
  tall that can be as long as the torso, a long
  tube-like head , and a small black mouth that is
  used to eat ants and termites.
• Anteaters eat ants and termites.
• Anteaters enemies are pumas and jaguars.
• Anteaters grow to 6-8 feet long.

Tree FrogbyTanya Rome

• The tree frog is bright green, sky blue along the
  ribs, has orange toes,and red eyes.
• It lives in the Rain forest of Costa Rica
  (Central America)
• They eat flies, moths, grasshoppers, crickets,
  and possibly other small frogs.
• Its enemies are snakes, bats,and big birds.
  
• Tree frogs are excellent jumpers.
• The female grows to about 3 inches, male grows
  to about 2 inches.
• The tree frogs are nocturnal.

• Piranhas live in the Amazon Rainforest.
• Piranhas eat other fish and mammals.
• They dont have enemies.
• An interesting fact is reports of piranhas
  attacking people are rare!
• I think piranhas are scary, and have razor sharp
  teeth.

• Lemurs eat both plants and meat.
• Lemurs are located on one place in the world
  called Madagascar.
• There are only fifty species of lemurs.
• Unlike other monkeys, lemurs cant hang by their
  tails.

Jaguarsby Jonathan Specht

• Habitat rain forests, woodlands, dry grasslands,
  forests, and swampy areas.
• Biggest Jaguar is 350 pounds, 5feet, and 30
  inches.
• Range North, Central, and South America.

• Great cats leopards, tigers, lions, and jaguars.
  Some animals they attack deer, mice, capybaras,
  and turtles.
• After two years a baby jaguar leaves its mother.

Destruction of the Rainforestby Trevor

• If we destroy our rainforests we will destroy
  oxygen.
• Every minute 60 acres of rainforest are being
  cut down.
• After trees are cut the soil gets loose and could
  turn to a desert.
• 50 million acres of rainforest are being cut
  every year.
