Project Description

• Implement wireless mesh network.
• Utilize student created FTP client/server
  application.
• Provide data testing including information on
  bandwidth, distance, efficiency, and
  environmental factors.

• Implement a FTP client/server based application
  over a multi-hop wireless mesh network as
  specified in the project description.

• Tsunami Base Station Unit
• Tsunami Subscriber Units

• Dell Laptops equipped with 802.11 wireless NIC
  cards

• Antennas of various gain.
• (Note Ph. D. student not included.)

• Used Java Development Kit (JDK) to implement the
  ftp applications.
• Utilized JSCAPE package.

Milestones

• Used wireless equipment to successfully connect
  laptops to internet over 200m distance.
• Successfully used our client side FTP program to
  connect to UCS system and download file.

Testing

• Testing has been completed on hardware
  connectivity.
• Testing has also been completed on Client side of
  ftp application.

Future Plans

• Currently working on Server side FTP software.
• Test with Client side software.
• Test over long distances using wireless
  equipment, and multiple hops.
• Test while considering adverse environmental
  factors.
