Smart Board

• Write, draw or type over any application and with
  the press of a toolbar button, capture an image
  of that annotation into Smart Notebook
• Create and edit a wide variety of annotation
  objects
• Save, print, or email a complete record of
  everything written, drawn or typed
• Can save files as JPG or as HTML

Accessing and Exiting Smart Board

• Double-click on the Smart Board icon in the
  desktop to access.
• Select Exit to close the program

• Eraser
• Black Stylus
• Blue Stylus
• Red Stylus
• Green Stylus
• Pen Tray Buttons
• Ready Light

Writing with Pen Tray Styluses over Applications

• Start your application
• Select one of 4 pen colors
• Write in color selected
• Put pen back in its slot
• (Color recognition comes from the slot)

Warning

• If you touch the Board after writing over an
  application that is not Board-aware and replacing
  the stylus in the Pen Tray, the annotation that
  you just made will disappear.
• Note You can restore your lost annotation by
  pressing the Restore Annotations button in the
  Floating Tools palette.

Capturing What You Write

• Use the Save/Print Toolbar that appears
  automatically when you lift a Pen Tray stylus.
• It will capture applications written in
  non-Board-aware programs.

Erasing What Youve Written

• Click Eraser button on Tools System Tray
• Pick up the Eraser from the Pen Tray
• Clear all annotations with the Clear Screen
  Button on side
• Clear all annotations with the Clear Button on
  the Tools System Tray

Using the Keyboard

• Press the Keyboard button in the Pen Tray
• Type Away
• Handwriting Recognition
• Press Write button on Keyboard
• Use Edit Toolbar
• Return to Keyboard
• Backspace
• Insert a space
• Carriage Return
• Number Recognition
• All caps
• Commit to Application

Object Creation

• Select tool from drop-down Draw menu
• Select visual attributes for that toolsuch as
  color, line width, font on the Format menu
• Drawyou can highlight and draw a rectangle,
  ellipse or line

Typing in Notebook

• Just start typing
• When you are done, click anywhere outside the
  text box to commit
• You can check spelling by using the Tools menu

Preventing Damage to Writing Surface

• Do not use writing instruments such as pens or
  pencils
• Do not use marker for white boards
• Use only the virtual ink pens
