How Groundhogs Garden Grewby Lynne Cherry
  • Groundhog loves to go into his neighbors garden
    and eat the fresh vegetables he finds there,
    until one day he has a friend who teaches him the
    joy of planting his own garden. Learn with
    Groundhog as he is introduced to the cycles of a
    garden gathering seeds in the fall, storing them
    in the winter, planting them in the spring,
    weeding and watering them in the summer, and then

  • Poor Ike LaRue has a hard time following
    directions, and he is sent to obedience school by
    his owner, Gertrude LaRue. Ike writes letters
    home to his owner pleading with her to let him
    come home as he paints a bleak picture of the
    school, which is a bit exaggerated. Ike makes
    his own point-of-view known as he tries to
    persuade his owner to let him have his way again.
    The black-and-white illustrations emphasize
    Ikes point-of-view. Will Gertrude LaRue give in
    and let Ike come home and return to his
    disobedient ways?
