  • Capital Helsinki (It's about 25 km from Tuusula)
  • Finland is a part of the EU
  • Biggest cities are Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere,
    Turku, and Vantaa

  • The president Tarja Halonen (also the 1st female
    president in Finland)
  • Finland is called "Country of thousand lakes" (we
    have almost 200 000 lakes)
  • About 70 of Finlands area is forest
  • Midsummer, May Day, Independence Day, and Easter
    are important holidays in Finland
  • Independence day is on Dec. 6th. Finland is now
    90 years old (independent since 1917)
