• Sierra Student Coalition
• Sent students to Econference, October 2000 in
  Philadelphia for meetings, lectures, and
  workshops
• Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, 300 letter
  campaign to Senator Mike DeWine urging him to
  cosponsor ANWR Bill in Congress
• Voter Registration
• Awareness campaigns, about harmful role of Shell
  oil in Nigeria, Utah wilderness threat in
  Congress, and ANWR
• Utah wilderness, working to adopt a section of
  Utah
• Spring 2001 Energy Challenge, competition between
  dorm buildings to decrease energy consumption for
  prize of DVD player and ice cream party.
• Offers list of 25 simple things students can do
  for the environment
• Climate Justice
• Chief objective to raise awareness of global
  climate change isues and to work with the college
  to integrate climate neutrality into policies and
  practice
• Petitioned administration to adopt 2020 report
  with 180 signatures
• Also looking at efficient use of energy, as in
  heating
• Wants to move away from coal
• Thermostat regulation
• Oberlin College Outing Club
• Promotes responsible treatment of environment by
  sponsoring outings and renting gear to students

  campus
• Run jointly by students and community members
• Membership for a month is 5, good for 20
  discount in store
• 2 hours of work is good for one free months
  renewal
• Oberlin Computer Recycling Program
• Donates used College and student computers to
  students in need of computers
• Oberlin Student Co-operative Association
• One student is setting up a local biodiesel co-op
  project he also turns old french fry grease from
  local restaurants into fuel for his converted
  diesel car
