Who is Enya?

• Birth Name Eithne Ní Bhraonáin
• She was born into a very musical family. Her
  father was in a popular Irish show band, Slieve
  Foy Band, and her mother was an amateur
  musician.
• Her older siblings and other family members
  created a band called Clannad in 1976, which she
  joined as a keyboardist in 1979 and left in 1982
  .
• She began her own music career with a BBC
  soundtrack which was released as her first solo
  album, Enya, in 1986

The Reasons

• The Celtic nature of the music, sometimes mixed
  with styles from other cultures, creates a
  feeling of ease and relaxation. Listening to this
  music helps me to put things into perspective and
  allows me to think clearly on the things that I
  need to. This is also great music to write to as
  it doesnt overtly interfere with your thoughts.
  I love falling asleep to it as well.
