Vital Statistics
Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa Italy in 1564.
He lived for seventy Eight years studying
astonomy and making notable contributions to
mathematics. He also studied Mechanics,
Thermometry and Magnetism. He died in Florence
in 1642.

His Age in Time
During Galileos life many interesting things
were sprouting up in various places like the
first printing press (1565) in England. The
pencil was invented (1565) and so was the
lantern (1640). Also, Coffee was first being
heard of (1615) and Kosher food was being made
(1640).

Education
In 1570 Galileo moved to Florence and was taught
at a school in a monastery. In 1581 he went to
college under strict pressure from his father.
He went to the university of Pisa and studied
Medicine and Philosophy. In 1585 Galileo became a
professor of mathematics at the University of
pisa. Later in 1590 he was appointed the chair
of Mathematics at the University of Puda.

His Personal Life
Galileo had three children. Two daugthers,
Sister Maria Celeste and Livia. He also had a
son, Vincenzio. All three were from his affair
with Maria Gamba. his Daughter, Sister Maria
Celeste, helped Galileo when he was placed under
house arrest. He was under house arrest for
continuing to believe in and study the copernican
theory. He eventually became blind but continued
his work.

Galileo was very interested to discover new
information and do various experiments to find
the answers to his questions. Among his studies
he created a machine to raise water levels,
Discovered The satellites of Jupiter, Continued
to study and defend the Copernican System. Also
include were The Brachistochrone Descent, The
Microscope, the Thermoscope and Genealogical Tree.

Contributions
Galileo made several Contributions to Mathematics
in his studies throughout the years. Here are
the three most impressive 1. The planes of
various inclinations.
2. The relationship of Space traversed and
time interval free fall.

3. The Motion of Projectiles.

Interesting Events
Galileoactually considered becoming a priest
after graduating from College. He Also, invented
the Microscope. Galileo also was interested in
writing books. In his life he wrote three books,
Dialog of the two chief world systems(1632),
Sidereus Nuncius, Discourse on Two New Sciences
(1638).
