Title: Stage II Concepts

1
Stage II Concepts
  • Stage II presents to the viewers cognition
signal line data relevant to physical sensory
input similar to sensations the viewer would
experience if he or she were physically present
    at the site
  • Allows the viewer to come into closer contact
with the signal line through recognition of
    sensory site facts

2
Stage II Concepts
  • Centers around the 5 physical senses touch,
    smell, sight, sound, and taste
  • May include temperature hot and cold to touch
  • General environmental ambiance
  • Energetics magnetism, strong radio broadcasts,
    nuclear radiation, etc.

3
Stage II Sites
  • Sites for Stage II training are selected for
    their pronounced manifestation of sensory
information such as botanical gardens, chocolate
factory, steel mill, amusement park, etc.

4
Clusters
  • Stage II responses tend to come in clusters of
    3-4 words
  • Stage II responses may cluster in categories such
as 2 or 3 tastes, smells, colors, or textures,
    etc.
  • AOLs are declared

5
Basic Words
  • True Stage II words are generally simple,
fundamental words dealing directly with a sensory
experience such as rough, red, cold, stinging
smell, sandy taste, soft, moist, green, gritty
  • When words go beyond basics they are considered
out of structure and therefore unreliable -
    objectify as Stage IV (S4)

6
Aperture
  • Aperture opens wider to accommodate Stage II
    information
  • Allows detailed sensory information to pass
    through to viewer
  • Information comes in slower and less concentrated

7
Dimensionals
  • As viewer approaches Stage III, aperture widens
allowing viewer to shift from a global (gestalt)
perspective to a perspective where certain
    dimensionals discernable
  • Dimensionals demonstrate 5 dimensional concepts
    vertical-ness, horizontal-ness, angularity, space
    or volume, and mass
  • Such as wide, big, long, tall, etc.

8
Reminders
  • Remember to number pages consecutively top right
    hand corner of paper
  • Continue to objectify AOLs and breaks
  • Combination of true sensory data in Stage II may
produce a valid signal line image consisting of
    colors, forms, and textures

9
More reminders
  • Stage II visuals may be distinguished from an AOL
in that they are perceived as fuzzy, indistinct
and tending to fade in and out as one attempts to
focus on its constituent elements rather than the
sharp, clear, static image that is present with
    AOL
  • Stay in structure - Head section S2

10
Aesthetic Impact (AI)
  • Indicates a sudden and dramatic widening of the
    aperture
  • Signals transition to Stage III
  • AI is viewers personal emotional response to the
    site

11
Aesthetic Impact (AI)
  • How the site makes you feel
  • Sudden surprise, revulsion, or pleasure
  • Keyed directly to individuals own personality
    and emotional/physical makeup

12
Stage II Drills?
  • Drills promote flexibility in producing Stage II
    responses
  • Viewers asked to produce a list of at least sixty
response-type words dealing with all of the
    possible characteristics of sensory input
    tastes, sounds, smells, tactile experiences,
    colors and other visuals
  • Also magnetic/energetic experiences
