Operation Bootstrap
  • More readily available means of obtaining

  • Contingent upon the ability of the organization
    to release the individual for the period of
    absence
  • The individual is not replaced for the period of

  • Students ADSC will be three times the length of

  • Means by which Airman whove served a minimum of
    one year in the Air Force may gain a commission
  • Operated by AFROTC

  • Airman with more than 30 college credit hours may
    apply
  • Sends them to college for up to 36 months to earn
    a degree
  • Sent to OTS upon earning a degree

  • Airman who already have degrees and have also

  • Air Force pays 75 of tuition costs at a cap of
    250/semester hour or 166/quarter hour

Bill - MGIB)
  • 36 months of educational benefits for individuals
    initially entering active duty after 30 Jun 85
  • Pay reduction of 1200 (100 per month) for first
    12 months
  • Serve three years active duty or two years active
    duty and four years selected reserve

  • Effective 1 Apr 93, post service benefits are
    400/month for 36 months of full time study for a
