ENERGY STAR
  • The ENERGY STAR label is the symbol for energy
    efficiency. The ENERGY STAR label assures that
    youll save energy, money, and reduce air
    pollution. 
  • Narragansett Electric has joined forces with the
    Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
    Department of Energy (DEP) to promote the ENERGY
    STAR label. 
  • The program provides training and promotional
    materials to retailers who sell ENERGY STAR
    appliance and lighting.
  • The program provides 50 rebates for ENERGY STAR
    Clothes Washers.

ENERGY STAR Residential Lighting
  • Program promotes the sale and installation of
    ENERGY STAR compact fluorescent lightbulbs and
    lighting fixtures.
  • Energy-efficient ENERGY STAR lightbulbs and
    fixtures are available at local stores.
  • Instant rebate coupons for bulbs and fixtures are
    available at participating retailers.
  • 5 rebate in 2001 on ENERGY STAR lightbulbs (will
    be lower in 2002)
  • 10 rebate on ES exterior fixtures
  • 15 rebate on ES interior fixtures
  • 20 rebate on ES torchieres

  • State-of-the-art homes designed for energy
    efficiency and comfort. 
  • Nationally recognized for greater value, lower
    operating costs, increased durability, comfort
    and safety.
  • Narragansett Electric offers a variety of
    incentives and technical support when you build
    an ENERGY STAR home.
  • Partnership with Woonsocket and Warwick
    vocational schools to train students as ENERGY
    STAR builders and sell homes as affordable
    housing. Trying to recruit more schools.

EnergyWise
  • Narragansett Electric offers the installation of
    electric savings measures in all existing homes,
    from single family and duplexes to large
    multifamily facilities.
  • For electrically heated homes, measures include
    insulation, thermostats, heat pump tune-up, air
    and duct sealing, lighting and appliance
    upgrades.
  • General use homes may also be eligible for
    lighting and appliance upgrades.
  • Showerheads, and other hot water saving measures
    are available for customers who heat their water
    with electricity.
  • A 2 loan is available for single and two family
    homes heating with oil, propane, or wood for
    insulation, thermostats, air and duct sealing,
    window and door treatments and ventilation.

Appliance Management Program
  • Services for low income customers at no direct
    cost to the customer which includes all the
    measures described for the EnergyWise program.
  • Partnership with the Rhode Island State Energy
    Office and local Community Action Agencies to
    serve customers in 1-4 unit dwellings.
