A is for agriculture
  • Agriculture is very famous in Illinois. Lots of
    farmers raise hogs and beef cattle. Illinois and
    Iowa trade a lot. Veggies are grown in the
    northern part of Illinois.

B is for Blue Gill and Black Hawk
  • It is the state fish. A blue gill is not blue. It
    is green, yellow, and orange. The Black Hawk is
    black thow.

C is for Al Capone
  • C is for Al Capone the famous scarface gangster
    that lived in a prison called Alcatraz. This
    prison was the only prison that was built on a
    island. He is still the best killer and gangster
    ever.

D is for Richard J Daley
  • Richard Daley was a mayor of Illinois for six
    terms from 1955 until he died in 1976.

E is for Ethanol and Esther Morris
  • Ethanol is a fuel made from corn. It is very
    environmentally friendly. Esther Morris was a
    woman who supported womans rights, convinced the
    lawmakers to create a bill giving women the right
    to vote and was the first woman to be judge. She
    was from Illinois.

    reason that Illinois is one of the leading
    agriculture states.

  • A cow belonging to Mrs. OLeary is said to have
    knocked over a lamp to start the Chicago Fire. It
    destroyed all of Chicago and lasted two days.

    Horseradish Capital of the World. There are
    a whole bunch of hogs in Illinois.

    life. One of the things he had to do was drive a

    him in Alton, Illinois. He was 8 foot 11.

    lives in Metropolis,IL there is a giant statue of
    him there. Jerry Siegal died in January 28, 1996.

  • Ulysses S. Grant was a Civil War general and
    colonel of an Ulysses Illinois volunteer
    regiment, who rose to rank of lieutenant
    general.He was named Supreme Commander of Union
    army during the Civil War. He was the eighteenth
    president of the U.S.

  • Vandalia was the second capital of Illinois. In
    1839 the state capital was moved from Vandalia to
    Springfield.
