- To reduce our dependence on lincome from Wills to
zero over three years by - Increasing the RADs income from Services from
2.5M to 4M - (Why from services? Because that is much more
sustainable than short term projects. So more job
stability.)

- All members of SMT going flat out to achieve
growth, by developing relationships with current
and future purchasers - Good relations forming with new areas Harrow,
Ealing, Hammersmith Fulham, Hackney, Islington,
Haringey, Waltham Forest, Newham, etc, etc
14Make Learning Disability service the best in our
area
- Continued growth especially in support services
in Essex and Kent - Presentation to Essex Social Service Sensory Team
- Appointment of new assistant team leader
- Major bid for residential service in Surrey
- Application for CSCI registration
15Become a leading service in Mental Health
- Appointment of new assistant team leader
- Phase three of Brent project spreading the
service to other areas - Participated in Mental Health conference in Essex
in November - SLA with an Essex PCT

16Grow the Interpreting Service
- Takeover of the Sign Language Bureau, added
300,000 to RADs turnover - Next years budgeted income over 1,200,000
- Increase in number of Interpreters to 18 and
coordinating staff to 8

- Essex service delivering on all its targets and
getting people into work - Contract with LSC Central London is delivering on
all its targets, in partnership with Access to
Employment - Contract with Islington grown to 1.5 days per
week, good uptake - Staff team increased with arrival of Suzie
Everett, Employment Advisor
21Increase our Ethnic Minority group work
- More cultural festivals
- More training
- More collaboration with other ethnic services,
including Forced Marriages Unit of Foreign

- Finished BSL Awareness Project (for Department
for Work Pensions) well ahead of targets - Major new project (Communication Tactics for
Health front line staff) about to start - Pan London BSL L3 project had difficult start but
now going well
23Build the Youth service, with more Youth workers
- Won contract for London South
- Recruited new Deaf Youth Worker
- Set up 2 new Deaf Youth Clubs

- New Contract with London Borough of Harrow
- Numbers rising in Barking Dagenham
25Create new Services
- Research planned for Hackney and other local
boroughs on needs of Deaf people - Working on project about access for Deaf children
to leisure and recreation services
26Community Development
- Relations with Deaf Clubs going really well. Also
maintenance of Centres. - Romford lease of room to Havering Alzheimers
Society (makes Centre more financially safe) - Achievement of Community Fund 3 year grant for
development of lunch clubs in London
27Progress on New Centres
- Green Lanes request for planning permission has
been submitted - Capital appeal in progress
- Opening early in 2007
- Clapham freehold acquired (at last). Discussions
with partners (Lambeth and Metropolitan Housing)
to re-start 2006
28Move Management Support Services to Colchester
- Recruitment of new staff team 2 of the 3 posts
filled - New office found and agreed
- Who goes where decided
- On track for starting work in Colchester in
January

- This years event in Chelsmford Shopping Centre
was a great success. - We ought to have one major RAD event.

- Faster growth for some teams resulting strains
and stresses, as well as opportunities - Period of stability for Interpreting Team
- Probable new office in Essex another move. Who
for? - Opening of first new Deaf Centre for nearly 50
years
