Mission The Maneuver Enhancement Brigade enables
and enhances the full dimensional protection and
freedom of maneuver of a supported Army, joint or
multinational headquarters by shaping, leveraging
or mitigating the effects of the operational
environment at the tactical and operational
levels. It augments maneuver and support
brigades with functional assets to optimize the
tailored capabilities of those organizations and e
nhance force application, protection, and focused
logistics across multiple areas of operation and
can provide a headquarters to command and control
an assigned area of operations including maneuver
forces.
Maneuver Enhancement Brigade can command and
control multiple combinations of
battalions. Attached units can be any echelon but
are typically battalion sized elements.

ARNG Training Turbulence of the Force
  • Modularity/AC-RC Rebalance/FS-ES Rightsizing (all
at once) resulted in an increase of MOS-T
(Reclass training) from a historical average of
10-12 to about 25 of the unit or approx 800
soldiers in a BCT. This increase has not been
    funded.

ARNG Equipping
  • FUNDS
  • Army has fenced 21B for ARNG equipment for FY
    05-11
  • Commitment from CSA for additional 1.9B for
    aviation
  • 905M in FY 07 Supplemental Request
  • (not yet approved)
  • 700M in FY 06 Title IX NGREA
  • ISSUES
  • Currently negotiating with
  • Army G-8 to establish business rules for
    accounting against the 21B
  • ARNG cannot link equipment delivered to original
funding source must be done by DA
  • Therefore, ARNG/DA unable to determine how much
    of 21B has been executed
  • Will need ARNG Senior Leader coordination with DA
    to fix this problem
